OHI General Manager Michael Were on radio 2GB

Charities doing humanitarian work abroad are facing increasing scrutiny from their donors, the Australian government agencies that accredit them, and the countries in which they are trying to save the local residents lives…many of whom will otherwise die.

One such charity is Open Heart International – the humanitarian medical and surgical aid organisation co-established and supported by Sydney Adventist Hospital, which coordinates volunteer expert doctors and nurses from around Australia for medical tours of duty to third world countries.

Michael Were, General Manager of OHI discusses the logistics and challenges of international charity work on radio 2GB.
