The San hosts first Centre of Excellence in Left Atrial Appendage meeting for 2021
Sydney Adventist Hospital is recognised as a Centre of Excellence in Left Atrial Appendage Closure procedures. Over the past two days San Interventional Cardiologists Dr Jason Sharp and Dr Dennis Wang have facilitated the first of four Centre of Excellence in Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) meetings to be held this year.
Cardiologists visit the San for specialist training in LAA from our doctors who are globally recognised leaders in this field. This recent meeting included the observation of a number of cases of left atrial appendage closure in the San’s Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory.
The first attendees of the year were cardiologists Dr David Russel and Dr Heath Adams both visiting from Royal Hobart Hospital, and Dr Chadi Ayoub visiting from Concord Hospital.
The San has one of the busiest LAA programs in Australia and an expert team of nurses, radiologists, echosonographers and anaesthetists supporting our specialists.
