San Hospital Swaddle Announcement
Swaddle San Baby Bundle obstetrics package – certainty of competence, care and costs.
In an Australian first, Sydney Adventist Hospital and health fund HCF have joined forces to guarantee Australia’s first end-to-end no-gap obstetric care package for HCF members.
The Swaddle San Baby Bundle will take effect as from Thursday 30th January and will be the focus of an ongoing national HCF led media campaign.
The Swaddle package means that expectant parents no longer need to worry about out-of-pocket costs for ultrasounds, pathology or hospital services, or from their obstetrician, anaesthetist or paediatrician when they enrol in this program. The close personal relationship that exists between obstetrician and patient to deliver the expert quality care and hospital services for which the San is renowned, remains unchanged. Patients will have certainty about competence, care and costs.
No other private hospital in Australia offers a zero out-of-pocket fees package for obstetrics.
Swaddle has resulted after months of negotiation between the San, HCF, a majority of the San’s obstetricians, paediatricians, anaesthetists and San Ultrasound for women, all sharing the common aim to improve the affordability and sustainability of private healthcare for people who choose HCF as their fund, and choose to have their baby at the San.
As NSW’s largest not-for-profit private hospital the San has been offering obstetric services since 1903 with approximately 1700 ‘San babies’ currently being born each year.
We value and appreciate the teams that deliver our expert and compassionate maternity services and relish this meaningful involvement with our community during these life-transforming occasions.
We hope all San babies ultimately become patients we can care for during their lives.
HCF is Australia’s largest private and not for profit health insurer with a focus on values of excellence and quality and delivering ‘uncommon care’, and we are proud to have partnered with them for the benefit of our patients.
Our thanks go to all the San community members involved in the implementation of this innovative package and partnership.
Patient questions about the package should be directed to: San Maternity on (02) 9480 4154 or to or to the HCF Members line of 13 13 34.
